Frequently Asked Questions about WhatsApp API Pricing

1. How much does WhatsApp Business API cost in India?

up arrow down arrow

WhatsApp Business API pricing in India has two layers: Meta's per-conversation charges and your BSP (Business Solution Provider) platform fee. Meta charges per 24-hour conversation window, with rates that vary by category — marketing conversations cost more than utility or authentication. EnableX charges a transparent platform fee on top, with no hidden setup or template approval fees. For exact per-conversation rates and our platform pricing, see the table above or talk to our team.

2. What are WhatsApp conversation categories and how are they priced?

up arrow down arrow

Meta groups WhatsApp conversations into four categories, each priced differently: Marketing (promotions, offers, product launches — highest rate), Utility (order confirmations, shipping updates, appointment reminders — mid rate), Authentication (OTPs, verification codes — low rate), and Service (user-initiated customer support within a 24-hour window — often free or low-cost). Each conversation is a 24-hour window from the first business message; all messages within that window are billed as one conversation. Learn more about WhatsApp Business API.

3. Are there setup or onboarding fees with EnableX?

up arrow down arrow

No. EnableX does not charge setup, onboarding, or template approval fees. You pay only for the conversations you send, plus our transparent platform fee. Most customers go from sign-up to first live message in under 48 hours, including WhatsApp Business Account verification and template approval. Start with a free trial to test the platform before committing.

4. Do you charge per message or per conversation?

up arrow down arrow

Per conversation, in line with Meta's pricing model. A WhatsApp conversation is a 24-hour messaging window between you and one user. Whether you send one message or fifty within that window, you're billed for one conversation. EnableX passes through Meta's per-conversation rate without markup on Meta's component, and adds a transparent platform fee per conversation for our infrastructure, support, and reliability layer.

5. Are there any free WhatsApp messages or conversations?

up arrow down arrow

Yes — under Meta's current policy, the first 1,000 service conversations per month are free for every WhatsApp Business Account, plus all conversations originating from a click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook page CTA are free for 72 hours. Marketing, utility, and authentication conversations are always billed. EnableX does not deduct platform fees on free-tier service conversations — you genuinely pay nothing for them.

6. What payment methods do you accept?

up arrow down arrow

EnableX accepts credit cards, debit cards, UPI, and net banking for Indian customers, and credit cards plus bank transfers for international customers. Enterprise customers can opt for monthly invoicing with NET-30 or NET-45 terms. We are GST-compliant in India and issue tax invoices for all payments. Contact us for enterprise billing setup.

7. Are there volume discounts on WhatsApp API pricing?

up arrow down arrow

Yes. Volume discounts kick in at higher monthly conversation tiers and are negotiated based on your projected monthly volume across marketing, utility, and authentication categories. Customers sending more than 100,000 conversations per month typically qualify for custom enterprise pricing. Talk to sales with your monthly volume estimate for a tailored quote.

8. What happens if a customer doesn't reply within 24 hours?

up arrow down arrow

The conversation window closes after 24 hours. To re-engage that customer, you must send an approved template message (which opens a new billable conversation). Free-form messages are only allowed inside the 24-hour service window after a customer message. EnableX's template management dashboard lets you submit, track, and manage approved templates from a single interface. See how WhatsApp Business API works.

9. How does EnableX WhatsApp pricing compare to Twilio, MSG91, or Gupshup?

up arrow down arrow

EnableX charges a transparent per-conversation platform fee with no setup, no template fees, and no committed monthly minimums. Many customers migrate to us specifically because of pricing transparency and India-based support. Request a side-by-side comparison for your volume.
